‘Provision of 75% scholarship effective from this academic session’

KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel has said that the provisions of 75 percent of scholarship allocated for bachelor level in medical and public colleges will be effective from this academic session.

Minister Pokharel has urged all the agitating students to come for talks abandoning the ungoing protests saying that the 75 percent of scholarship as laid down in the medical education act will come into force from this academic session.

The entrance test for the scholarship will, however, be implemented from the next year since the formation of the Medical Education Commission was delayed.

The Section 17 (7) of the National Medical Education Act, 2075 has laid the provision that public colleges have to allocate 75 percent scholarship of the total number of seats for bachelor level.
