Meme Nepal YouTube channel host Pranesh Gautam arrested



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested host of Meme Nepal YouTube channel Pranesh Gautam over a defamation case.

He was arrested following an arrest warrant issued by Kathmandu District Court. The court has remanded him to judicial custody for investigation.

The court, however, ordered the release of the operator of the YouTube channel Adarsha Mishra who was arrested along with Gautam, on bail.

It is reported that the final hearing of the case will be held next week.

Filmmaker Milan Chams had lodged a complaint with the police stating that a video uploaded on the channel that reviewed the movie ‘Bir Bikram 2’ caused him to incur losses and insulted and defamed the artists of the film.
