Survey for cable car to Muktinath being worked out

KATHMANDU: Muktinath Darshan Pvt Ltd. is preparing DPR (Detailed Project Report) of a cable car to be laid from Birethanthi of Kaski up to Muktinath. It is currently working on ‘identified planned projects’ and engaged in preparing the DPR of these projects. Big projects like these require a survey to be conducted by ‘light detection and ranging’ while preparing the DPR.

An Australian plane, which has in Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) a week before, which has been studded with different types of technological devices has been making a detailed survey of the project.

According to Sridhar Sapkota, CEO of the company, a raw data of land project survey along with the final report conducted by AAM, an Australian company, will be submitted to Muktinath Darshan Pvt Ltd within the next two months.

He said that the construction of the cable car route for the length of 84.1 km has been accelerated and that the Environment Impact Assessment has already been finalized. “Therefore, we have expedited the process,” Sapkota said.

The survey of this technical level is not possible without the involvement of a technologically equipped airplane, according to him. Therefore, Australian company AAM Group has bagged the contract of the land survey for preparing the DPR for the stated project and has been using the special Australian plane for this purpose. The plane will stay here at Kathmandu airport for another 10 days.

In this survey conducted by the Australian airplane, the staff of the surveying department will also stay there. Ropes GMBS, an Italian company has been entrusted with preparing the DPR. “The data supplied by the AAM Company will be transferred to Ropes GMBS who is preparing the DPR,” he added.

And this how the complete work of DPR making will come to an end in coming 3 to 4 months, he said adding that the ‘geotechnical study’ and taking of ‘geometric study’ under DPR has been completed.
