Kathmandu traffic to be hit by SAG marathon Saturday



KATHMANDU: Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) has urged Kathmanduties to ply only emergency vehicles inside Kathmandu Valley on Saturday morning as the marathon competition of the South Asian Games (SAG) has been scheduled.

Issuing a notice on Friday, MTPD has urged to operate only emergency vehicles from 7 am to 11 am tomorrow morning.

Marathon competition will begin from Dashrath Stadium at 7 am and will pass through Teku, Kalimati, Kalanki, Balkhu, Saatdobato, Koteshwor, Sallaghari, Suryabinayak and return to Koteshwor, New Baneshwor, Maitighar, Singha Durbar, Bhadrakali, Bir Hospital, Jamal, Lainchour, Uttardhoka, Naagpokhari, Dakshindhoka, Ghantaghar, Bhadrakali and will end at Dashrath Stadium.

SSP Bhim Prasad Dhakal has urged all to operate only emergency vehicles and use alternative routes during the period.

According to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, the route from Suryabinayak to Kalanki will remain closed due to the cycling event of ongoing the 13th South Asian Games from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday.
