Dolakha CDO Rijal relieved of duties

DOLAKHA: Chief District Officer (CDO) Khagendra Prasad Rijal accused of bribery has been relieved of his responsibility.

He has been transferred to Ministry to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Victim’s family on Thursday, through a press conference, had accused Rijal of receiving bribe time and again.

Spokesperson at Home Ministry, Kedarnath Sharma said that a decision to remove him from the post has been made, adding that it is yet to be decided on who will replace him.

Rijal has been accused of receiving Rs 90 bribe money from Kumar Lama Moktan of Mailung Rural Municipality-4 and Rs 21,000 from Udim Tamang and Indra Bahadur Tamang of Kalinchowk Rural Municipality-1.

Spokesperson Sharma that they will investigate if Rijal took the bribe money or not.

According to sources, Rijal took the bribe money and later returned it following a dispute.
