13th SAG sixth day: Athletes competing for 19 events today

KATHMANDU:  The competition is taking place for different 19 events on the sixth day of the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) on Friday.

Nine different events are taking place in Pokhara, Kathmandu and Janakpur. Five among them are the new games while the rest are the continuation of the previous events.

Today’s events include archery, shooting, athletics, basketball, badminton, beach volleyball, squash, fencing, football, golf, handball, kabaddi, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, wrestling, weightlifting and Wushu.

Of them badminton, women’s cricket, wrestling, beach volleyball, archery and handball are taking place in Pokhara, wrestling in Janakpur while the rest will be held in Kathmandu.

India has taken the lead with 62 gold medals followed by Nepal with 36 gold medals since Thursday.
