1 killed, 2 injured after car swept away by swollen rivulet



DOLAKHA: A man died while two others sustained injuries after a swollen Sundrawati rivulet swept away a car in Kalinchowk Rural Municipality-9 in the district on Thursday night.

The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Anish Pokharel of Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-3, Jhaphe. Bikaj Pokharel, 31, of Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-3 and driver Pawan Paudel of Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-2 were injured in the incident, said District Police Office, Dolakha.

The injured are undergoing treatment at District Hospital, Dolakha and their condition is said to be normal.

Ecosport Car, Ba 19 Cha 4390, heading to Charikot from Singati was swept away by swollen Sndrawati rivulet at 11 pm yesterday, said Police Inspector Resham Bohara. The dead body has been brought to District Hospital, Dolakha for postmortem.
