PM Oli to be under doctors’ supervision at Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: Doctors will keep an eye on Prime Minister K P Oli at the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar after he was discharged from the Maharajgunj-based Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre on Thursday afternoon after ten days of his admission.

The prime minister will be under constant monitoring, given the chances of him catching an infection after undergoing surgery for appendicitis, according to Dr. Arun Sayami attending to PM Oli.

“We will visit him at Baluwatar. He will be kept under monitoring for a few days,” he said, “I have suggested him to take rest for some days.”

Dr. Sayami shared that performing the appendicitis surgery on the prime minister was full of risk.

“The whole medical team was worried after he was brought to the hospital as undergoing appendicitis surgery involves a high risk in case of health condition of the prime minister,” Dr. Sayami said, “Thanks to his will power, timely treatment and wishes from Nepalis, PM Oli got discharged on the tenth day of admission.”

Dr. Sayami said that the team of doctors involving Dr. Dibya Singh will decide on kidney re-plantation.

PM Oli, who had gone to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on November 26 for a checkup, underwent an operation for appendicitis the same day after he needed an immediate operation.

He received treatment at the Intensive Care Unit at the center during his stay at the hospital. PM Oli also underwent dialysis for his kidney as the kidney that was transplanted some 12 years ago has stopped functioning properly.

Doctors attending to the prime minister said that he will undergo regular dialyses.
