Palpa jeep plunge claims two

BUTWAL: Two people were killed in a jeep accident that occurred at a place between Kerabari and Chaubis Mile along the Siddhartha Highway in Palpa district on Thursday.

The identities of the deceased have not been ascertained yet. The incident took place when the ill-fated jeep, Lu 1 Ja 4209, was heading to Tansen from Butwal, according to District Police Office, Rupandehi.

The jeep skidded off the road and plunged some 500 meters down into the river, said DSP Ram Prasad Shah.

Police said they are carrying rescue operation and investigating the case.
