Nepal makes it to semifinals in badminton



POKHARA: Nepal has entered semifinals in badminton in men’s singles and doubles and mix doubles in the ongoing 13th South Asian Games in Pokhara.

The match was played at the covered hall of the Pokhara Stadium on Wednesday. In men’s singles, Nepal’s Ranjit Tamang made it to semifinals while in men’s doubles, a team of Prince Dahal and Praphulla Maharjan.

Likewise, in mix doubles, a couple of Bikash Shrestha and Anu Maya Rai reached semifinals. Tamang defeated Bangladesh’s Sigbat Ullha 21-13 and 23-21 sets.

Likewise, a couple of Dahal and Maharjan beat Bhutan’s a pair of Karma Chhendru and Anish Gurung 21-14 and 21-12, while a team of Shrestha and Rai got a walkover against Bhutan’s couple of Anish Gurung and Samjhana Gurung.
