Traffic monitoring to minimize accidents



DANG: The State 5 government has constituted a traffic monitoring committee in a bid to ensure the safe travel of people during the Dashain festival.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of the state formed a public transport management monitoring committee has already started its works.

The role the committee would be to ensure that road accidents are minimized and passengers travel with convenience.

According to committee coordinator Shankar Prasad Kharel, traffic checking and monitoring have been expedited the state.

The committee will also urge transport entrepreneurs to ensure that vehicles are in good condition.

It has also appealed to the drivers, transport entrepreneurs, travelers, and the public to take all possible means for the safe journey considering the huge traffic flow during festivals such as Dashain, Tihar and Chhath.

The committee has also requested service seekers to dial 100 — a toll free emergency number of Nepal Police, and 103 of the Nepal Traffic Police – in case they have any grudges or complaints in regard with traffic services.
