Chinese national held with 4 kg gold at TIA

KATHMANDU: A Chinese national has been arrested with four kilograms of gold at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

According to Gajendra Kumar Thakur, chief of the TIA Customs Office, Chinese national Lee was arrested with the aforesaid amount of gold while landing at the airport via a flight of Dragon Air from Hong Kong.

Four biscuits of gold were found concealed in a luggage after wrapping them in a piece of cloth during a security screening.

The seized material was verified as gold after lab test only this morning even though Lee was held at 10 pm yesterday, said Thakur.
