BENI: As many as 15 couples, who had done the inter-caste marriage, have been feted here. The joint political Dalit struggle committee honored them amid a program organized on the occasion of the National Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and Untouchability, on Monday.
Committee chief Devindra Bahadur KC, deputy mayor of Beni municipality, Sanju Baruwal, Chief District Officer, Liladhar Adhikari, deputy chief of Malik rural municipality, and committee coordinator Bal Bahadur Bishworka felicitated the couples.
Speaking at the program, coordinator Bishwokarma said such program would help create positive attitude towards the inter caste marriage and added that the caste-based discrimination is social crime.
