KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Dr. Dharma Kanta Banskota has assumed office amid a function here today.

Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Tribhuvan University, KP Sharma Oli, on Sunday had appointed Dr. Banskota to the post.

ENT specialist Dr. Banskota of Jhapa district is former chief of ENT department of TU Teaching Hospital and former Chairperson of Nepal Medical Council.

Rector Dr. Sudha Tripathi was appointed as officiating vice-chancellor after the term of vice-chancellor of TU, Dr. Tirtha Raj Khaniya terminated on August 22.
