German Vice Minister calls on PM Oli

KATHMANDU: German Vice Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Norbert Barthle, is on a three-day visit to Nepal from October 3 to 5.

The visit underlines Germany’s wish to continue its long-standing partnership with Nepal by adding a new dimension to it, said a statement issued by the Embassy of German in Kathmandu.

Barthle called on Prime Minister K P Oli and discussed political and economic matters on Thursday.

On Friday, he is meeting government representatives.

Barthle also inaugurated the National Load Dispatch Centre (LDC) financially supported through the German Development Cooperation with a grant of 7 million Euros. The LDC is technically improved and will be the heart of the Nepalese power grid, the statement said.

According to the statement, strong development cooperation between Nepal and Germany will continue as in the past six decades.
