Rapti Institute of Health Science set to resume maternity allowance



TULSIPUR: The Rapti Institute of Health Science (RIHS) is all set to provide maternity allowances again.

Ram Prasad Pyakurel, Registrar of the RIHS, shared that a decision was made to resume distribution of maternity allowance which was shut earlier.

The distribution of maternity allowance was put off due to the unavailability of the budget after the then Rapti Sub-Regional Hospital was transformed into RIHS.

Registrar Pyakurel further shared the RIHS would resume maternity allowance service for the eligible from coming 18 October.

The Health Ministry has issued a budget of Rs 20 million from this week and the maternity allowance of Rs 1,800 would be provided from next month.

Likewise, RIHS also has changed fee structure in the Out Patient Department (OPD) service and emergency service.
Earlier, the OPD charge was Rs 25 and an emergency charge was Rs 30. Now, the RIHS has increased OPD charge to Rs 60 and emergency charge to Rs 80 to be effective from coming October 18.
