KATHMANDU: Property worth Rs 3.59 billion has been damaged by flood and landslide due to excessive rainfall in July in Province 2, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.

Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, Chakrapani Khanal informed this while presenting the details in today’s meeting of the parliamentary Agriculture, Cooperative and Natural Resources Committee.

A total of Rs 1.97 billion was damaged towards the agro sector while Rs 1.62 billion towards livestock in eight districts of Province 2.

According to him, Province 1 suffered a huge loss after Province 2. In Province 1, property worth Rs 815.4 million towards livestock and the agro sector was damaged.

Details collected by the Ministry till July 29 maintained that 2,446 households have been affected in Province 1.
