KATHMANDU: With the construction of four new parking bays, the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) currently boasts of having a total of nine.

The construction of the new parking bays, which started some nine years ago, has been completed at the cost of Rs. 600 million, TIA authorities said.

“Currently nine aircraft, including three widebodies and 6 narrow body aircraft, can be accommodated in the parking bays,” General Manager at TIA, Raj Kumar Chhetri said.

The completion of new parking bays is expected to minimize the problem of holding at the TIA, he said.
