Biplav outfit refutes media reports on attack attempt

KATHMANDU: The Netra Bikram Chand Biplav-led Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has refuted media reports on an attack attempt at a police post in Solukhumbu district.

In a statement on Monday, the party said it has no policy of attacking security agencies adding that ‘fake news’ of the attack attempt was circulated in media as a part of the government’s ploy to repress the party.

The party said it was concerned over the ‘well-thought-out propaganda’.

It was reported that a group of 25 to 30 cadres of the party tried to attack the post at Chheskam in Mahakulung Rural Municipality-3 on Sunday night. The attempt was reportedly foiled as police personnel decamped with the weapons upon receiving a tip-off.
