Flights meant for Nepali migrant workers grounded

KATHMANDU: Nepali migrant workers have been hit after their flights bound for labor destination countries have been halted for the last three days due to protests by the manpower supply companies.

The representatives of the Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies have been staging protests demanding that jobs in Malaysia be opened at the earliest and interest accrued from their deposits be provided to the respective manpower companies.

There were no migrant workers  heading for foreign countries at the airport. The waiting lounge was deserted, said Ram Prasad Bhantana, acting chairman of the Association.
