Writ against 60 mln budget allocated for lawmakers



KATHMANDU: A writ has been filed at the Supreme Court against the government’s move to allocate Rs 60 million budget for the development of constituencies arguing that it is against the constitution.

Advocate Parasmani Bhattarai filed a writ against the government’s decision arguing that the allocation of 60 million budget for the development of the constituencies is against the spirit of the federalism and the constitution.

” Bhattarai, in the writ petition, argues that allocation of 60 million budget meant for the development is contravenes with Article 1, 4, 56 and 57 of the constitution. This was allocated at a time when the previous Rs 40 million was found misused and embezzled.”
