KATHMANDU: Khadga Bahadur Jogi, 50, of Fedap Rural Municipality-2, Tehrathum has been released from Abu Dhabi prison after furnishing Rs 6.1 million in blood money.
Jogi was freed after the blood money was submitted at the Abu Dhabi court through the Nepali Embassy based in Abu Dhabi.
Jogi had been serving a jail-term at Al Wathba prison since May 6 2014 on the charge of killing his Filipino colleague.
The court had issued a verdict charging that Jogi had stabbed his Filipino colleague to death. However, Jogi had been denying the charges. He was sentenced to five years in jail along with a fine of Dhirham 200,000 in blood money.
Jogi arrived home on Thursday.
