KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday said the government should work in tandem with opposition parties for the country’s development and people’s welfare.

“Opposition parties will support the government for good works. The government should take all sides into confidence,” he said while launching an autobiography of NC late leader Gobardhan Sharma Pokharel entitled ‘Mero Jiban Yatra (Journey of my life)’ amid a function here.

Accusing the two-thirds majority government led by Nepal Communist Party (NCP) of pursuing a path of communism, he maintained that such an act would in no way be acceptable to the NC.

“The government is led by the communist party. But the country is not communist. The NC which has been fighting for democracy since 2007 BS cannot go against democracy,” he said.
