Snake-bite claims two in three days in Jhapa



JHAPA: Two people have died in the past three days due to snake-bite in the district. The deceased have been identified as 52-year-old Chhatra Bahadur Paudel of Bahradashi  Rural Municipality-3 and Sarita Thapa of Birtamod Municipality-10. Thapa died of snake-bite on the veranda of his own house, said Ghanashyam Raya, a local.

Critically injured Thapa, who was rushed to Charali, died in course of treatment. With the temperature growing, the incidents of snake-bites have also gone up in Jhapa.

Around 3,500 snake-bite patients receive treatment from three snake-bite centers in the district, annually.
