Israel strikes Syria after Golan attack

JERUSALEM: The Israeli aircraft struck Syrian army targets on Sunday after rockets were fired at the Golan Heights.

The Golan Heights (total area 1,800 km2), located east of Israel make the western boundary of Syria between two countries. Israel controls two-third of the Golan Heights while Syria controls 1/3rd of its territory (600 km2).

Syria’s state media confirmed that three soldiers were killed in the second such fire-powers in a week. (Agencies)
