JERUSALEM: The Israeli aircraft struck Syrian army targets on Sunday after rockets were fired at the Golan Heights.

The Golan Heights (total area 1,800 km²), located east of Israel make the western boundary of Syria between two countries. Israel controls two-third of the Golan Heights while Syria controls 1/3rd of its territory (600 km²).

Syria’s state media confirmed that three soldiers were killed in the second such fire-powers in a week. (Agencies)
