Protect culture and religion, says former President Yadav



KATHMANDU: Former President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has urged all sections of the society to protect the country’s unique culture and religion.

Stating that several organizations have been encroaching upon Nepal’s rich culture and religion, he urged one and all to discourage such activities.

Inaugurating a Bhagawat recitation program in Kathmandu today, he expressed serious concern over what he said ‘worrying fact’ that some foreigners have been encouraging conversion by taking advantage of the poverty here.

He said unity among all people from diverse cultures and regions is a must adding that it is high time that the country’s multiple religions and castes are preserved.

Nationality fosters when people from all regions — mountain, hills, and plains – are bonded with emotional unity.
