Israel strikes Syria after rockets fired at Golan

JERUSALEM:  Israeli military on Sunday said its aircraft struck Syrian army targets after rockets have been fired at the Golan Heights, media reports have said.

It said the aircrafts struck Syrian artillery and aerial defense batteries in retaliation for the Syrian army’s firing of two rockets at the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Saturday.

According to them, it was unclear who had fired the rockets. However, the Israeli military held Syrian army responsible for any attack launched from the Syrian territory.

In a statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said they would not tolerate any firing into their territory adding that Israel will retaliate with great force. (Agencies)
