KATHMANDU: Top political leaders reached the windstorm-hit areas in Bara and Parsa districts on Tuesday.

Chairman of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Pushpa Kamal Dahal reached the windstorm-hit areas and pledged to provide Rs 500,000 each to the families of those killed the windstorm.

Dahal pledged the assistance as he visited the Feta Rural Municipality in Bara district that was hardest-hit by the windstorm.

He also reached the Birgunj-based Narayani Sub-regional Hospital to take stock of the health condition of those injured in the gale.

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba also inspected the windstorm-hit areas.

On the occasion, he pledged an assistance of Rs 2.5 million for the gale survivors and also took stock of the heath condition of the injured.
