CIAA arrests two for taking bribe

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested a headmaster and an office assistant on the charge of taking bribe.

The arrested are Rabindra Kumar Maurya and office assistant Ram Kumar Loniya of Bal Secondary Bisanpur Kapilvastu. They were arrested for allegedly receiving Rs 40,000 to facilitate the teacher appointment process.

CIAA team from the Butwal office arrested them from New Siddhartha Hotel at Shivraj Municipality-5 Chandrauta. According to CIAA spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Koirala, an investigation into the case was underway.
