Three arrested for cow slaughter



CHITWAN: Police have arrested three persons at a time when they were slaughtering a cow at Janapriyatol of Kalika municipality-3 of eastern Chitwan on Tuesday morning.

However, two others involved in the crime managed to escape.  According to the Area Police Office, Tandi, the arrested are Nirmaya Tamang, 35, Anjana Tamang, 27 and Amir Tamang, 18, of Kalika municipality.

Police arrested them at a time when they were slaughtering the cow in the yard of Nirmaya. Police have been carrying out a search for the absconding persons and further investigation into the case was underway, said Chief at the Area Police Office, Tandi, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bhabesh Rimal.

Cow is the national animal of Nepal and slaughtering it is illegal.
