Govt sends 468 tarpaulins to windstorm-hit areas



KATHMANDU: The central government has sent 468 tarpaulins meant for the windstorm victims of Bara and Parsa districts.

According to Disaster and Conflict Management Division at Ministry for Home Affairs, the tarpaulins were sent to the affected families through trucks of Armed Police Force.

Under Secretary at the Division Bed Nidhi Ghimire informed that it has been established that some 400 families were hit by the disaster and thus tarpaulins were send accordingly.

He added that 468 tarpaulins were sent as District Administration Office, Bara has 140 tarpaulins in stock.

At least 32 people were killed and over 500 were injured in the windstorm that hit Bara and Parsa districts on Saturday night.
