NA performs last rites of man who died of COVID-19

BUTWAL: Nepal Army (NA) has performed the last rites of a coronavirus-infected teacher who died at Crimson Hospital in Rupandehi.

The last rites were performed out by NA personnel with the help of Nepal Police after widespread criticism over not performing the last rites for a long time after the death.

The relatives said that there were some grievances and their demand should be heard. However, an army and police team reached the hospital and removed the body of the infected person and placed it in a hearse.

Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Rupandehi, Khadga Bahadur Khatri said that the body was buried in the forest between Devadaha and Tilottama.

A 41-year-old man had died from coronavirus on Thursday morning taking the death tally to three in Nepal. He had tested COVID-19 positive on May 18.
