Over 1,200 migrants return from India in a single day in Karnali

BHERIGANGA:  A total of 1,207 people have arrived in a single day at Babai of Bheriganga Municipality-5, the gateway to Karnali State.

They arrived here today from different Indian cities through Jamunaha of Nepalgunj and Gaddachauki of Kanchanpur.

Internal Affairs and Law Minister of the State, Naresh Bhandari, said that all those coming from India are the residents of Karnali, adding that 500 are from Dailekh, 320 from Surkhet, 266 from Salyan, 77 from Jajarkot and 44 from Kalikot districts.

He added that the Karnali State will test RDT of all those coming home from India in the present context while also urging all the local governments and citizens to comply with their responsibility by being alert.

Likewise, Social Development Minister Dala Rawal said that the health workers’ team has reached there with needed medical kits for RDT tests.

“We will take RDT test of all and will keep them under quarantine if they test positive in RDT. Also, preparations are being made for isolation if they were infected even in the PCR,” he further shared.

A total of 16 health workers are deployed with 700 kits, Chief of Health Service Office Chetanidhi Wagle.
It is said that around 15,000 to 20,000 people have entered into the State in the past 10 days.
