Corruption case filed against two including veterinarian



KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against two persons including Dr. Balram Thapa, Chief of the Animal Health Hospital, Tripureshwor under the Department of Livestock Services.

The Commission on Thursday filed a corruption case against them in a Special Court alleging financial irregularities.

Dr. Thapa has been accused of getting involved in corruption by importing drugs and pharmaceuticals manufactured by an Indian company which is not registered in Nepal.

The case has been filed against him seeking imprisonment for one to two years and a fine of Rs 50,000 to Rs 100,000 as per the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 BS.

Similarly, the case has been filed against Rewatiraman Niraula, proprietor of Munal Biovet Pharma, for colluding with the government body.
