Person who tested positive for COVID-19 entered Nepal in a truck

KATHMANDU: The 41-year-old male from Nawalparasi, who tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday, had come to Chitwan from India in a truck.

A resident of Devchuli Municipality-12, the person had entered Nepal via Raksaul, according to Health Office Chief Raj Kumar Shrestha.

The infected person, who was a laborer in India, however, has not entered Nawalparasi.

The truck was heading toward Kathmandu.

“We asked him to undergo a COVID-19 test at the Bharatpur Hospital as soon as we came to know that he had entered the country,” Shrestha said.

He has been kept in isolation in the hospital.
