KATHMANDU: Two persons undergoing treatment for coronavirus in Butwal and Chitwan have recovered and discharged from the hospitals on Wednesday.
Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health, Dr Bikash Devkota said a 25-year-old person has been discharged from Butwal Hospital after staying at the hospital for 11 days.
Likewise, a female, aged 63, has been discharged from a Chitwan-based hospital after on the 26th day.
With this, 35 persons have recovered from the coronavirus in Nepal so far.
The infection cases from Coronavirus has reached 219 in Nepal after two persons tested positive on Wednesday.
The two persons include a 36-year-old male of Banke and the a 22-year-old male from Kapilvastu.
While the swab of the first person was tested at Dhulikhel laboratory, the second person’s swab was tested at the National Heath Laboratory in Kathmandu, according to Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari, Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry.
It should be noted that 83 new Coronavirus cases were reported in a single day on Tuesday alone with three new cases in the Kathmandu Valley.
According to the Ministry, Parsa district has the highest number of Coronavirus cases with 82 followed by Udayapur with 32.
Similarly, Kapilvastu has 30 infection cases, 26 in Banke, 15 in Rupandehi, 4 each in Kailali and Kathmandu, 3 each in Bara, Rautahat and Dhanusha, 2 each in Bhaktapur, Baglung, Chitwan, Jhapa, Mahottari and 1 each in Bardiya, Bhojpur, Kanchanpur, Saptari, Dhanusha, Dhading and Sarlahi.
Meanwhile, 184 among those infected with the novel virus are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country while 35 have returned home after recovery, according to the Ministry.
Parsa has remained one of the ‘hotspots’ of the pandemic.
