KATHMANDU: Nepal has confirmed 10 more new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, taking the total of infections to 69.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, Dr Bikash Devkota, Spokesperson at Ministry of Health and Population said that a 36-year-old person from Chhapkaiya of Birgunj Municipality-3, and nine persons in Nepalgunj have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The 36-year-old’s swab was found to be have been infected during a test at the Teku-based National Public Health Laboratory in Kathmandu.
Now, he has been kept in the Narayani Hospital, Birgunj.
Likewise, nine people, including five male and four female, aged between seven to 58 years, have been found to be infected in Nepalgunj testing lab, according to the Ministry.
Nepalgunj Mayor Dhawal Shumsher Rana has said they are trying to trace the travel history of those nine infected persons.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that 16 out of the 69 persons receiving treatment for COVID-19 have returned home after recovery.
According to Dr Devkota, 77 people across the country are currently in isolation while 21,958 are kept in quarantine as of May 3.
