COVID-19: Nepal performs over 58,000 tests so far

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population on Thursday stated that no new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the past 24 hours.

Nepal has reported 57 COVID-19 cases and among them, 16 have been discharged so far.

The health condition of all the 41 patients is normal, according to Spokesperson at the Ministry Dr. Bikash Devkota.

Speaking at a regular press briefing this afternoon, Spokesperson Dr. Devkota said that 12,011 samples have been tested through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method so far.

Likewise, 46,860 Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs) have been carried out so far.

Province wise, 4,984 RDTs have been done in Province 1; 5,456 in Province 2; 8,361 in Bagmati Province; 5,411 in Gandaki Province; 3,799 in Province 5; 5,463 in Karnali Province and 13,411 in Sudurpaschim Province so far.

A total of 1,682 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, according to Dr. Devkota.
