Nepali nationals in S Korea to get relief materials

KATHMANDU: Nepali nationals living in South Korea are to receive relief materials on a par with the Korean citizens.

A provincial government of S Korea has announced to provide relief materials to foreign nationals living in the country hit by Coronavirus.

This decision will benefit Nepali nationals, too.

According to international media reports, Gyeonggi-do state of S Korea has decided to distribute relief to those who came to S Korea on spousal visa and those who had been living in the province permanently.

Earlier, there had been a signature campaign accusing the government of charging tax on the foreigners and discriminating them when it comes to relief distribution at times of disasters.

There are over 60,000 foreigners and over 48,000 on spousal visas have been living in Gyeonggi-do province.
