NC leaders ask leadership to launch protest against govt



KATHMANDU: As many as 11 leaders of Nepali Congress (NC) have demanded that the main opposition launched a resistance movement against the government on Wednesday.

The leaders issued a statement urging the NC leadership to launch a movement to protest the government’s decision to issue controversial ordinances related to political parties and the Constitutional Council on Monday.

They have alleged the government of issuing the ordinances with ill intent.

NC leaders, including Gagan Thapa, Chandra Bhandari, Dhan Raj Gurung, Ratna Sherchan, Kamala Panta, Badri Pandey, Guru Raj Ghimire, Jeevan Pariyar, Ram Krishna Yadav, Pradeep Paudel, and Sarita Prasai on Wednesday issued a statement demanding the party to launch a protest against the government’s move.

They have also demanded the party President Sher Bahadur Deuba to call a central committee meeting to take a decision in this regard.
