Thundershowers likely for next few days

KATHMANDU: Meteorologists say some parts of the country’s central and eastern regions are likely to witness brief rain accompanied with gusty winds, lightning, and hail with partly to generally cloudy for the next few days.

Meteorological Forecasting Division says thundershowers accompanied with winds are predicted in some places in the country including Kathmandu for the next couple of days owing to the impact of the Westerly wind that has entered Nepal from the Bay of Bengal via the western region.

Pre-monsoon has become active these days, according to meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal.

Hilly regions, including Kathmandu are witnessing brief shower for the past few days.

While the skies are generally cloudy in the mornings with irregular sunshine, there is brief rain accompanied with wind and lightning these days.

These, according to Aryal, are features of pre-monsoon period that usually begins on March and ends in April.
