Death toll in Italy reaches 21, 067 after 602 die in 24 hrs



KATHMANDU: Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has witnessed 602 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the number of death toll to 21, 067 as of Wednesday morning.

With 2, 972 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 162, 488, the third highest in terms of infection cases, after Spain and America.

Currently, 104, 291 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 3,186, are critical. Meanwhile, 37,130 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 126, 518 and infecting 1,995,205 people as of Wednesday morning.
