Field inspection visit to take stock of quarantine camps from today

KATHMANDU: The federal government is making an on-site visit to take stock of the quarantine camps set up in the local levels in the Kathmandu Valley from today.

The field visit is being conducted to ensure the standards of the quarantine camps established for the Covid-19 suspects and those returning to Nepal from foreign countries.

According to sources, the inspection visit will begin from the quarantine camp set up at Pashupati Area from Saturday afternoon.

A cabinet meeting held on March 29 had formed a filed inspection and facilitation team comprising Minister of State for Urban Development Ram Bir Manandhar and Minister of State for Health and Population Nawaraj Rawat.

State Minister Manandhar on Friday held talks with all mayors of 18 municipalities of the Kathmandu Valley, chief district officers of three districts and division commanders of Nepal Army deployed for the management of the quarantine  camps.

In the interaction, Manandhar informed that the government is making a filed inspection visit from Saturday.

The field inspection team will submit their field report within two days.

There are quarantine camps including a 60-bed quarantine camp at Agriculture Training Center in Bhaktapur, a 175-bed quarantine camp at Kharipati and 70-bed camp, 100-bed bed camp at Staff College in Lalitpur and a 70-bed quarantine camp at Pashupati Area.
