RSP to hold dialogue with business community and strengthen provincial presence

KATHMANDU: The secretariat meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) concluded with key discussions regarding government ordinances, the inclusion of people’s representatives in the party, and strategies for provincial expansion.

The meeting, held at the party office in Chamati under the chairmanship of Acting Chair DP Aryal, focused on reviewing the five ordinances recently presented by the government in parliament.

The party is set to refine its position on these ordinances during the upcoming parliamentary party meeting scheduled for January 29.

RSP leader Biraj Bhakta Shrestha revealed that the meeting also addressed the party’s strategy on opposition to the ordinances, highlighting concerns over their alignment with the law and the constitution. Shrestha noted that there were discussions on the thematic departments and organizational methods within the party, aiming for greater effectiveness in governance.

One of the key decisions from the meeting was the plan to decentralize responsibilities to the provinces, allowing regional leaders to manage efforts to engage people’s representatives who are eager to join the party.

The RSP is focused on strengthening its base across the provinces, with plans to start dialogues with industrialists, businessmen, and activists in all seven provinces from next month.

A team of members from the House of Representatives and central party members will be deployed to lead these efforts.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the importance of reaching out to opposition parties to engage in discussions on national issues and ensure cooperation in shaping future policies.
