NEPALGUNJ: When the country is combating against coronavirus epidemic, poachers seem more focused to hatch crime taking advantage of lockdown.
The Bardiya National Park has arrested 18 human intruders in the last five days.
Those arrested were found involved in fishing, killing animals or intruding the park without permission. Pramod Bhattarai, chief conservation officer at the national park informed that the arrested are sent to in the custody of the national park.
The patrolling team of the national park had arrested 6 while they were stealing out the park with boar and deer.
Eight persons were arrested for intrusion while 2 each were nabbed for hiding the baby animal and fishing in the restricted zone. The team has taken control of a hunting dog as well.
The poachers had trapped the boar and had also used the dog to follow and hunt deer.
When the dog would kill the deer, the poachers would follow the dog’s bell and catch the deer .
After finding that the ill-intent people went in and hunted the birds and animals in the park, the administration has become more alarmed about the security situation of the park.
