COVID-19 death toll in US crosses 10,000

KATHMANDU: The number of death toll from coronavirus in the United States of America has climbed to 10, 866 as of Tuesday morning.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, 1, 250 died in the last 24 hours taking the death toll from the novel virus to 10, 866.

There has been a sharp increase in both the infection and death rate in America of late. New York City is the worst-hit with 3, 485 deaths.

With 30, 207 new cases in a single day, the number of infection cases has surged to 366, 880 so far.

According to the reports, 336, 358 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the country, of which the condition of 8, 878 people is critical.

Meanwhile, 19, 6556 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the COVID-19 has spread to 209 countries, killing 74,565 and infecting 1,345,048 across the world as of Tuesday morning.
