253 people of Jumla to undergo coronavirus test

JUMLA: Swab of 253 people who returned home from India and third countries would be collected for the coronavirus test in Jumla. The people are in quarantine centers in different parts of the district.

The returnees have been quarantined at different places of one municipality and seven rural municipalities.

As per the details collected by the District Administration Office, Jumla, a specimen of 29 people of Patarasi, 22 of Guthichaour, 28 of Chandannath, 13 of Tatopani, 17 of Tila, 45 of Hima, 47 of Kanakasundari and 52 of Sinja rural municipalities would be collected for the same, said Chief District Officer, Durga Banjade.

Banjade added that preparation was underway to collect swab on April 7 and three places have been determined to collect swab.

CDO Banjade stated, “Swab is going to be collected after they informed the federal government saying Jumla is at high risk of coronavirus as many people entered the district from India and third countries.”

Meanwhile, a meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee was held in presence of Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Karnali state, Naresh Bhandari, on Monday.

The meeting reviewed the activities carried out earlier against COVID-19 and decided to strictly implement the lockdown.

He said the arrangement of a separate ambulance has been made to carry coronavirus infected people.
