Nepali Congress launches COVID-19 self-testing app

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress has launched a web-based self-testing application for COVID-19.

The application was developed in consultation with specialist doctors, according to party spokesperson Biswa Prakash Sharma.

The web-based application available at www.nepalicongress.org/covid19/ was developed by the party’s Central Information, Communications and Publicity Department. The website was unveiled today.

With the help of the application, one can self-assess the presence of symptoms of Coronavirus. It also guides people with any such symptoms to go for physical testing and treatment.

Furthermore, the website provides the latest updates about COVID-19, including the state of infection in Nepal and the world. It also helps raise people’s awareness about the disease and ways to prevent and control it.

The party also believes that the application would help the individuals, the society as well as the government to trace and identify the people who have been carrying the virus.

Former President of Nepal Medical Association Dr. Anjani Jha, epidemiologist Dr. Basudev Pandey, Vice-president of Nepal Medical Association Dr. Anil Bikram Karki and lung specialist Dr. Ashesh Dhungana are advisors available for consultation.

The web-application will be further reformed and improved based on suggestions received from users and well-wishers, Spokesperson Sharma said.
