Minister Dhakal instructs NAMS to treat all kind of patients

KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population Bhanubhakta Dhakal told the office-bearers at the National Academy of Medical Science (NAMS) and instructed to make sure there was no lacking for the treatment of all kind of patients.

Summoning them at his office on Friday, Minister Dhakal also took stock of the preparations on the part of the health workers for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The team arriving at the Minister’s office was led by NAMS’s Vice-Chancellor Dr. Dev Narayan Shah, according to the secretariat of Minister Dhakal.

Stating that the government was leaving no stone unturned to boost the morale of the health workers across the country, Minister Dhakal informed that the health workers working amid this pandemic have been insured and provided with appropriate motivational allowances.

The spread of COVID-19 was so far limited to the people’s level and had not yet widespread at the community level, the Minister said, instructing NAMS to provide healthcare services to all the patients currently undergoing treatment in health facilities across the country.

NAMS’ office-bearers said that they would obey the instruction and would make sure that there would be no inconvenience to any patients.

Bir Hospital’s Executive Director Dr. Kedar Prasad Century shared before the Minister that the oldest hospital in the country would start conducting COVID-19 tests from the coming Monday.
